District Plan? Bylaw Renewal? What does this mean for me? What does this mean for Riverdale?

The City of Edmonton is engaged in a multi-year project to implement the City Plan which involves creating District Plans for neighbourhoods. District Plans will guide development in communities for years to come, and the upcoming Edmonton Zoning Bylaw Renewal is an important part of the district planning. Part of this implementation involves repealing the Riverdale Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP).

The ARP was a multi-year, collaborative labour of love for many engaged members of the community of Riverdale. Their work was rewarded when the ARP was consolidated into bylaw in 2010. Understandably, many Riverdale citizens are concerned about the changes and very interested in staying engaged in the process as the planning and bylaw renewal continue.
