Riverdale has many family friendly events!
Annually we celebrate Canada Day, Community League Day, and New Years. There is also many other events that may be scheduled during the year including Jane’s Walk, Sustainability Pub Nights, educational movie nights, and concerts!
Tipi Raising in Riverdale
In recognition of the significance of the river and this land as a gathering place for Indigenous people over many millenia
Elder Elizabeth Letendre would like to invite you to a tipi raising event on Thursday September 19th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverdale Park. While everyone in the community is invited to participate - this event is for First Nations, Inuit and Metis people to gather and celebrate their many contributions to the creation of our community, city, province and nation.
Community league day - SATURDAY sept. 21, 2019
Riverdalians are invited to celebrate Community League Day at Riverdale Hall/House on Saturday, September 21th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
COMMUNITY LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
This is the day to renew your League membership or become a new member. Annual memberships cost $25 for a family, $15 for a single parent family or single adult, $5 for seniors or low-income families.
There will be a range of fun events for all ages.

Access to some of the most engaged and active community members in Riverdale. Neighbours with the capacity and skills to help bring your ideas to life!
Free swim from October to June at the downtown YMCA (Don Wheaton) Sundays from 1 - 5 pm and at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre on Saturdays from 5 - 7 pm which includes Field House, Gymnasium, Aquatic Centre & Fitness Centre
Free swim during the summer months at Mill Creek, Fred Broadstock, Queen Elizabeth, and Oliver Outdoor Pools. Check our website www.riverdalians.ca for swim times.
Community league events such as Canada Day Celebration, Community League Day, New Years Day Celebration, etc.
Maintenance of Riverdale Hall, Riverdale House, the outdoor skating rink, and rink shack

Vote at League meetings, and community representation before City Council

Renewing or purchasing your league membership can also be done online by going to www.efcl.org/membership. The cost remains the same.
Light Up Riverdale - January - TBA
A ‘Glow Party’ held from 4 to 7pm that includes skating and tobogganing at the Rink House, along with a walk around the neighbourhood to light up the night.
Gordon macgregor hockey tournament - February - TBA
A free 4 X 4 hockey tournament is held every year with coffee and hot chocolate in the Rink House.
