Community League Meetings

Community League Board Meetings are held at 7pm, and League Meetings at 8pm, on the first Monday of each month at the Riverdale Hall. If the first Monday of the month is a statutory holiday, the meeting is held the following Monday.

League Meetings are not held in July and August.

Annual Riverdale Events

Riverdale has many family friendly events! Annually we celebrate Canada Day, Community League Day, and New Years. There is also many other events during the year including Janes walk, Riverdale sustainability pub nights, educational movie nights,  and concerts!


CanADA DAY IN rIVERDALE - SUNday july 1st, 2018

Canada Day celebrations are held every year right within our neighbourhood. The 2018 Canada Day festivities include:

  • 1:30PM Meet and Decorate for Parade

  • 2:00PM Parade starts at Tree Frog Press and ends at Riverdale Hall

  • 2:30PM Sing O' Canada on the hill at Riverdale Park

  • 3:00-6:00PM Free picnic and entertainment including a bouncy castle, games and fun for all.

This is a free event brought to you by your Riverdale Community League.

Community League Membership Drive

Mark Your Calendars - Community League Day - September 15th

Riverdalians are invited to celebrate Community League Day at Riverdale Hall/House on Saturday, September 15th from 1:00 to 4:30.

This is the day to renew your league membership or become a new member.  Annual memberships cost $25 for a family, $15 for a single parent family or single adult, $5 for seniors or low-income families.

There will be a range of fun events for all ages; watch here for updates.



 Access to some of the most engaged and active community members in Riverdale. Neighbours with the capacity and skills to help bring your ideas to life!

 Free swim from October to June at the downtown YMCA (Don Wheaton) Sundays from 1 - 5 pm and at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre on Saturdays from 5 - 7 pm which includes Field House, Gymnasium, Aquatic Centre & Fitness Centre

 Free swim during the summer months at Mill Creek, Fred Broadstock, Queen Elizabeth, and Oliver Outdoor Pools. Check our website for swim times.

 Community league events such as Canada Day Celebration, Community League Day, New Years Day Celebration, etc.

 Maintenance of Riverdale Hall, Riverdale House, the outdoor skating rink, and rink shack

  • Use of the skating rink

  • Discounted Riverdale Hall rental rate

  • Ability to rent Riverdale House for private functions

  • Opportunity to rent a Garden Plot

  • Priority for open spots for the Riverdale Community Childcare Centre

  • The weekly playgroup Wednesday mornings at the hall

New Years day - Family fun in Riverdale

A fun-filled day of skating, tobogganing, hot chocolate and perhaps a fire to warm up beside, free and open to all. The Rink House will be open between 2 and 4pm.

Light Up Riverdale - January 19

A ‘Glow Party’ held from 4 to 7pm that includes skating and tobogganing at the Rink House, along with a walk around the neighbourhood to light up the night.


Gordon macgregor hockey tournament- February - TBA

A free 4 X 4 hockey tournament is held every year with coffee and hot chocolate in the Rink House.
